Frame Of Reference
About
For my degree project I decided I wanted to put my hard earned design education to work in a way that matters and benefits me. This book is a collection of poems from the last decade of my life. I wrote, designed and bound the book by hand. From lazier cutting and embroidering the frame, to cutting out each cutout. Frame of Reference is a complete culmination of my creative education and effort.
The book consists of 4 chapters; Life, Love Loss and Loneliness, the Frame of Reference that categorizes each poem. The book has page cutouts which are consistent with the chapter organization
After designing the pages, I played around with different hard and soft cover designs. The hardcover design consisted of a screen printed white canvas embroidered with the title. The final design is simple and timeless but also something you want to touch.

As my capstone project for my Bachelor's Degree, I decided to consolidate all my best poems into a book. Written, designed, edited and bound all by hand I created 4 copies of "Frame of Reference" as my final assignment. The title refers to the organization of the poems; Life, Love, Loss and Loneliness are the 4 L's that create the 'frame' which categorizes the collection of poems.
